Sad when Capital City stopped being a Comic Distributor. Shortly after I closed my doors to my comic shop Ninth Nebula. Paid in full. Ten great years. Still don't know why they went away. Strange thing was getting a $100,000 check in the mail which I reluctantly returned. Yardsellr and my website is where Ihave been selling Yardsellr announced today they are going away ...no longer to be as they currently are: http://yardsellr.com/yardsale/Rob-Gustaveson-736187 see my stuff and buy it while you can..once I put it away it's hard to find. :) Or feel free to buy directly from me. I love comics and I love selling them.

Yup - only the four of us + Scott's assistant/receptionist ever worked at Lavery Court and we were only there for a year or so. We were out by the summer of 1988, I thought. The front of the Lavery Court office was different from the photo in the article - there weren't two roll-up doors side-by-side, even if you considered the offices on either side of us. And we didn't start publishing newspaper strip reprints until we were on Lawrence Drive because those were only made possible by our purchase of a nifty stat camera, and converting one of the bathrooms into a darkroom. We didn't do any strip reprints out of Lavery Court, so there wouldn't have been a copy of Charlie Chan laying around for the reporter to see.

Plus, some of the books mentioned, especially Planet of the Apes, but also Dracula and Frankenstein, weren't published out of Lavery Court - that was Lawrence Drive too.
